How to make ammo in Fallout 76

Making ammo is very simple. All you need is Tinker’s Workbench to craft any ammo you want. Of course, you need the necessary materials to make ammunition, but at least you don’t need to find a plan to make it. All types of ammunition share two common materials. lead and steel. These are pretty common materials, but you’ll need a lot of steel and lead to make a lot of ammo.

Where to find steel

Steel is a common material for many items. But if you want to get a lot of steel, you’ll want to grow your guns and utilize your steel extractor. Both Scorched and Super Mutants tend to carry guns with Super Mutants, who wield more powerful weapons than the Scorched. Each of these guns can be scrapped at the workbench, and if you have a Scrapper Perk you will get about 20 pieces of steel.

Grafton Steel is one of many workshops in the Wasteland that can be claimed, but one of the few that have a steel extractor. Grafton Steel has two steel extractors and one lead extractor. Secure this workshop and turn on all extractors to collect a lot of lead and steel (40 to be exact).

Where to find leads

Lead is a little harder to find than steel, but you can get a lot of it by going south on the map. By far the best place to get leads is at Lucky Hole Mine. This location is west of the cranberry marsh in the mountains. Lucky Hole Mine is home to many cultists who can drop weapons to get more Steel. Take your pickaxe and collect the lead ore scattered throughout the mine.

Other lead-rich locations include Green Country Lodge, Morgantown High School, and the Charleston Fire Department. Each zone has a weight room with a ton of weight that can be scraped for additional leads. You can also get steel through scrap.

Best perks for crafting ammunition

Since the best way to get ammo is to make your own, you’ll want to get the right perks for the job. There are two perks you can get before crafting ammo. Super Duper and Amossmith. The Super Duper perk gives you the opportunity to double everything you craft. This will give you double the ammo per crafting. The Ammosmith perk increases the amount of ammo that can be crafted at one time. With all this information, a lot of ammunition can be produced. For extra ammo, you can also turn on the ammo machine at the munitions factory.
