A firefighter was rescued with a leg injury after fighting the fire that destroyed a recycling shed on Guinle Avenue, in Guarulhos , Greater São Paulo, early this Monday morning (20).
The warehouse is located between the President Dutra and Ayrton Senna highways. The fire has already caused the walls to collapse. At least 14 teams from the Fire Department are at the scene. There are no reports of casualties inside the shed so far. The high flames and a lot of smoke draw attention in the region.
In May, a major fire hit a plastics factory in Guarulhos.
At least 66 agents and 25 vehicles from the Fire Department worked on two fronts to contain the flames in the building, located between Avenida Marcos Paulo Gonçalves and Rua Sr. do Bonfim, in Jardim Triunfo, Bonsucesso region.
Agents from the Military Police, GCM (Municipal Civil Guard), Civil Defense and EDP (electricity distributor) also worked to contain the fire.
In April, another large fire destroyed a complex of warehouses at Rua São Miguel dos Campos, 793, in Vila Barros, also in Guarulhos. The location is close to the international airport in Cumbica .
The Fire Department worked on site with 90 men and 28 vehicles to contain the fire, with support from the Military Police, City Hall, GCM, Civil Defense, EDP and Sabesp. There were no casualties.
