Google Pixel 6 March update: According to Matt Flegal, a Google spokesperson, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will finally get last month’s substantial feature update today. In previous updates for the Pixel 3A and 5A, Google pushed back the update for the Pixel 6 to address bug fixes, according to Android Police.

This month’s feature drops include improved night photography in Snapchat, custom stickers, YouTube watch parties in Google Duo, and a new Live Caption feature that lets you communicate without speaking. We describe these features in greater depth in the post we wrote about the update’s initial rollout.

Several bugs have been addressed in this update, including improvements to the fingerprint sensor’s stability and performance and improvements to battery and thermal performance. The February update also fixed a bug that caused Wi-Fi to disconnect randomly. Additionally, Google offers Pixel 6 and 6 Pro users support for Verizon’s 5G C-Band, letting users access the carrier’s ultra-wideband frequencies, lit up in January.

Google Pixel 6 March update our opinion

It’s not unexpected that Google has decided to delay the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro update, and I don’t blame them for being cautious. Google’s track record in pushing out updates for its flagship phones has been concerning. Google took down a highly anticipated update for Pixel 6 devices in December after users complained of dropped calls. The revised update went live in January. And then there was the February above update that didn’t go over well with everyone.

I hope this update doesn’t mess up anything new this time around.

The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro devices update has been added as of March 21st at 4:00 PM ET.
