According to the results of the MBBS admission test marks for the academic year 2021-2022, there were 79,337 candidates who passed, representing 55,133% of all those who took the test.
Tuesday afternoon, Health Minister Zahid Maleque held a press briefing at 1pm in the Health Service Division’s conference room.
Of the 79,337 students who passed the test, 44,504 (56.09%) are women and 34,833 (43.90%) are men.
There were 139,742 students who took the exam this year.
Students were selected for admission to 37 government medical colleges for a total of 4,350 seats based on their national merits. The number of seats in private medical colleges is 6,489.
Female applicants are admitted to government medical colleges at a higher rate than male applicants. Government medical colleges will admit 2,345 women and 1,885 men.
According to the health minister, this year’s exams went extremely well and the results were released on time. “We have received no allegations of improper conduct in connection with these tests,” he added.
Last year, 48,975 applicants passed the admission test, with the top 4,350 candidates on the merit list being selected for the academic session 2020-2021. 39.86 percent of candidates passed.

Results will be sent to successful candidates based on merit list. Moreover, results will be available in the website of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The pass number is 40.
