PUBG Update 18.2 will be available for the PC version of the game on July 12th, and for the console version from July 20th to July 21st. The update brings a new map to a game called Deston, originally codenamed Kiki. Deston is available as a feature map and can be played on TPP and FPP. Deston’s available mods may vary by region, but solo, duo, and squad modes are mostly available. Deston’s main areas are Ripton, Swamp, Concert, Hydroelectric Dam, Assembly and Arena. There are also areas in Deston that only the Drone can access.
Ripton has a submerged “sparkling city” where most players can see Deston’s tallest tower. Deston includes two new map utility items: Ascender Attachment and Utility Parachute. Map utility items trigger special in-game interactions that allow you to travel the map. Map Utility items are automatically placed in the player’s inventory when entering Deston and players cannot drop or trade them from their inventory. Utility items do not affect inventory weight, occupy their own slots, and can be used as many times as the player wants. Ascender Attachment allows players to climb up and down structures.
New features that will be part of Deston include security keys and fuel pumps. Security Keys are unique to Deston and are used by players to unlock Security Doors. Security keys are stacked in the player’s inventory and are single-use items. Fuel pumps are located throughout Deston and players can use them to refuel their vehicles. Only the operator can interact with the fuel pump and there are no restrictions on the use of the fuel pump. The fuel pump can take damage and explode when it loses enough health.
Deston will also get a new weapon called the 012 and a new vehicle called the Airboat. Airboats allow players to travel both land and water, allowing players to easily navigate the Swamp area of Deston. There is also a Survivor Pass: Deston where players can enhance their experience in Deston. The 18.2 PUBG update will also patch some parts of the game and improve certain features. This includes map improvements, improved graphics options for the game console version, and a new system integration called Workshop
