Name That Tune Season 2 episode 1, Fox’s hit music guessing show, has been renewed for a second season. The show, which stars a slew of celebrities and is hosted by Jane Krakowski, will premiere on Tuesday, March 29 at 9.00 p.m. ET/PT. Season 1 of Name That Tune premiered in 2021 and drew a lot of attention from viewers due to its out-of-the-box content.
The show stars a slew of celebrities who demonstrate their musical knowledge by listening to songs performed by Randy Jackson’s band. Every correct response earns the celebrities points. The person with the most points wins a large cash prize for their charity.
The official synopsis of the show reads,
“Contestants’ music knowledge is tested as they compete for cash and prizes.”
What to expect from Name That Tune season 2 episode 1?
Each one-hour episode will include two stand-alone half-house contests in which two players must quickly guess the song names based on only a few notes.
Jodie Sweetin, Jennie Garth, Frankie Muniz, Ian Ziering, Kelly Osbourne, JoJo, Shaggy, Kim Fields, Tituss Burgess, Mel B., Cassadee Pope, Jana Kramer, Laurie Hernandez, Nastia Liukin, Vernon Davis, and Victor Cruz will be among the contestants for the upcoming season.
These celebrities will compete to raise funds for their respective charity organizations.
The show’s first episode, titled TV Royalty and Gridiron Champs, will feature actress Kelly Osbourne playing for the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai. She will compete against pop singer and songwriter JoJo, who will perform for The Hole in the Wall Gang.
Vernon Davis will take the stage next to perform for his Vernon Davis Foundation, followed by former NFL star Victor Cruz, who will perform for the Victor Cruz Foundation.
Davis will also admit in the upcoming episode that he finds peace in writing raps. To make the most of the opportunity, host Krakowski will ask him to demonstrate his talent.
The NFL player will then take the stage to perform a rap song in front of competitor Victor Cruz.
What is the cash prize for Name That Tune season 2?
According to the show’s prize-winning format, the player who wins the most money by the end of the Bid-a-Note round will have the opportunity to enter the final Golden Medley round, where they will have the chance to win additional cash and potentially a $100,000 grand prize.
