Nintendo has revealed that the first special edition Nintendo Switch OLED models will be themed for Splatoon 3, and it looks really fresh.
Nintendo has previously released a number of limited edition models for their standard Switch consoles, but this is the first time the Splatoon 3 console has changed with a refreshed OLED model. No hardware changes here. It’s the same handheld/home console hybrid, but with Splatoon-inspired skins.
Previous special edition Switch consoles proved to be very popular. In fact, some have now become collector’s items that can only be found on the resale market. So, if the Nintendo Switch OLED Splatoon 3 Edition catches your eye, we recommend that you pre-order it before launch.

Released to commemorate the release of the long-awaited multiplayer shooter Splatoon 3, the Nintendo Switch OLED Splatoon 3 Edition is a special edition version of Nintendo’s very popular Switch console.

Rather interestingly, the package does not include a copy of the Splatoon 3 game. This certainly seems counter-intuitive, but anyone who wants to cover an entire console with Splatoon artwork will also want the latest games from the franchise. It’s not the first time Nintendo has made a move like this. The 2020 Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Edition didn’t even include Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
