When is Litwick Pokémon GO Community Day?

Charging…

The Litwick Pokémon GO Community Day takes place on Saturday, October 15, 2022. It runs for three hours, between 2pm and 5pm in your local time.

As such, you’ll have three focused hours to catch as many Litwicks as you can. The candle-shaped Pokémon will appear almost exclusively in the wild, so it will be very difficult to miss it if you are trying to farm candy. Even better, there’s a chance you’ll get a special shiny Litwick if you’re lucky.

What is the special timed research for Pokémon GO Litwick Community Day?

Hoopa Unbound Raid Guide

Of course, each Community Day in Pokémon GO comes with its own set of special investigations for you to carry out. This usually makes up several new objectives to complete within three hours, with the reward of additional prizes if you succeed.

The next Litwick Community Day is no different! First of all, there are a bunch of timed investigations, which run during the event. Each research task you complete earns you a free Unova Stone, with a maximum of five on offer.

On top of that, you can pay $1 to access an exclusive research task called Field Notes: Trick of the Light. Niantic has yet to announce what you will be able to get for completing the research, but it will surely be worth it.

How do I get the Poltergeist Litwick move?

If you want any Litwick you catch during Community Day to have the Poltergeist move, there is a way to do it.

Poltergeist is the featured move this Community Day, and to get it you need to evolve a Lampent, which is Litwick’s first evolution. If you do it during the event hours, or the five hours immediately after, you’ll get a Chandelure that has Poltergeist as a charged move.

Since there will be plenty of Litwick to catch, you can easily stock up on enough candy to turn one into a Chandelure when Community Day is over. Nice and easy!

Is Poltergeist good for Chandelure?

Long story short, no, the Community Day Poltergeist movement is far from the best option to run Chandelure. While most Community Day moves are stellar limited-time options, this one isn’t.

Should I evolve Litwick during October Community Day?

Since the Poltergeist move introduced during October’s Community Day isn’t very good, it’s actually best that you don’t evolve from Lampent to Chandelure until the day after October’s Community Day.

This will save you from having to waste TM by changing the move for a better one.

Is Litwick good at Pokémon GO?

Of course, none of this would be worth it if Litwick wasn’t a good Pokemon in its own right. As with most Pokemon that haven’t evolved yet, it’s not particularly strong in battle.

Its best combination of moves is between Ember, Astonish, and Flame Burst. At his strongest, you’ll only do a little over 5 damage per second, so in raid boss fights or against Team GO Rocket, Litwick won’t have much of an impact.

Fortunately, Chandelure is a Pokémon worth investing in and trying to evolve this Community Day. While it’s vulnerable to many types, including Dark, Rock, and Water, it can deal serious damage against Normal-type Pokemon.

On top of that, the combination of Fire Spin and Shadow Ball will give you over 16 damage per second, which is better but still nothing special.

You’ll still want to participate in Litwick Community Day, but probably just to fill out your Pokédex, rather than find a new Pokémon to use in battle.

When it was first introduced, Chandelure was a meta pick, and its evolution conditions were well worth it. Like Gengar, it’s a glass cannon type, meaning that while it can’t take a lot of hits, it can certainly deal heavy burst damage.
